Your host’s Bob and Mary Redpath will make every endeavour to ensure your time spent on our farm is a memorable & enjoyable experience. Wairata Station is a vast peaceful mountainous wilderness within reach of New Zealand’s main centre, Auckland. Wairata Station is a large hill country farm ranging from lush river flats up to towering open peaks. The station runs over 400 head of Angus cattle and 1500 Perendale sheep. Wairata Station is a large hill country sheep and beef farm and is covered in and surrounded by New Zealand’s beautiful native forest. You can simply join in with shifting stock or take a 4WD trip to remember, from the homestead across open farmland, across rocky streams & up steep farm tracks to the top of the mountains. You will enjoy fantastic views of the valley, the Waioeka River, farmland and surrounding native forests. We have over 20 kilometres of farm track to explore (some weather dependant). Wairata Station offers guests a range of scenic 4WD tours on the farm. Some farm tracks follow the Waioeka River and others reach the highest points. Some tracks are only dry weather tracks and all tracks pass through areas of native bush. Often 4WD tours are incorporated with other farm activities.
