Wairata Station is a vast peaceful mountainous wilderness within reach of New Zealand’s main centre, Auckland. Wairata Station is a large hill country farm ranging from lush river flats up to towering open peaks. The station runs over 400 head of Angus cattle and 1500 Perendale sheep.
Wairata Station offers Mountain Bikers a range of scenic tracks to bike on ranging from easy flat valley floor rides that follow the Waioeka River to challenging mountain rides to the top of hills. The rides are on farm tracks which are a mixture of surface-rock, clay, dirt and grass. Riders need to bring their own bikes and will be given direction before heading out.
